Fasting the day of ARAFA & day of ASHURA
Hope your all doing great inshallah.
Narrated by bukhari and tirmidhi, a companian of the prophet pbuh (abu qutada) said that the prophet pbuh said: "fasting the day of ARAFA*wipes the past sins commited a year behind and a year infront and fasting the day of ASHURA** wipes the sins commited a year behind" behind meaning last year/ a year ago
*
the day of Arafa is considered as the day of the greatest encounter between a repentant slave and his Forgiving Lord. It is a day of knowledge and forgiveness. On this day, Divine Mercies are showered upon slaves from Allah, Creator of the earth and the heavens. That is why it has been said that whosoever stands on the mountain of Arafat but does not feel certain that Allah has forgiven him his sins and misdeeds, his Pilgrimage is not accomplished.
so really just look at the importance of this day!
10 Muharram
Related to Remembrance of Muharram, which encompasses the first ten days of Muharram and Ashura, and Yom Kippur, which corresponds with Ashura in the Jewish calendar.Ashura is also commemorated by Muslims as the traditional date on which Noah's ark came to rest, the prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) was born and the Ka'ba was built in Mecca. The word ashura means simply tenth in Arabic; hence the name of the remembrance, literally translated, means "the tenth day". The scholars, however, give various explanations as to why it is thus called.
subhanallah notice how merciful allah is on to us, its like he gives us chances all the time
so my dear dont lose this chance (if your not on hajj) FAST, fast fast
its good for you trust me
so lets look back now....the day of arafa is important to FAST if you want your sins behind and infront to be forgiven and that is the day before EID al adh-ha (eid mubarak in advance by the way) and the day of ashura which is on the 10th of muharam
Narrated Jaber (May Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (PBUH) said: “There are no days better with Allah than the ten days of Thul Hijja.” A man asked: “Are they better than ten days of Jihad for the sake of Allah?” He (PBUH) said: “They are better than ten days of Jihad for the sake of Allah. And there is no day better with Allah than the day of Arafa, (on which) Allah, the Almighty, descends to the lowest heaven and boasts of the people of the earth to the inhabitants of the heavens. He says: Behold My slaves! They have come unto Me unkempt, dusty, and struck by the suns rays. They have come all the way seeking My Mercy although they have not seen My Punishment! There is no other day on which people are emancipated from the Fire more than the day of Arafa.”
amazing
also be keen to read (trust me its worth it print it out if you like
Narrated Abu-d-Darda: The Prophet (PBUH) said: “Satan is never seen pettier, more defeated, or more furious on any day than that of Arafa. This is because he sees the sending down of (Allahs) Mercy and His Forgiveness of great sins, except for that which he was made to see on the day of Badr.” They asked: “What did he see on the day of Badr?” He (PBUH) said: “He saw Gabriel leading the Angels (in support of believers in the fight against the infidels).”narrated by Imam Malik and Al-Hakim
Now that ^ you gotta love!
So to conclude fast the following 10 days too and get TWICE THE REWARD! *inshallah*

I cry with gratitude..…once more You've blessed me
Tears flowing…..in ecstasy my heart flies
My soul sings….my whole being cries
Labbaik....Allaahum ma Labbaik
But what are these words..... what do they really mean?
Do I appreciate them?…Do I just repeat what I've seen?
Do I really understand….
Do I even comprehend….
Labbaik....Allaahum ma Labbaik
Labbaik means I am here, Ya Rabbee.....I respond to Your call
With a heart full of hope….for that Mercy that envelops all
I’m here to serve You……I’m here to comply
To You I submit……until the day I die
Labbaik....Allaahum ma Labbaik
Labbaik means total devotion…..submissio
Labbaik means sincere obedience and commitment completely
Labbaik means surrender
…..for now and for ever
Labbaik....Allaahum ma Labbaik
Labbaik means I’m sorry…..so sorry for all my past
Sorry for my mistakes and my shortcomings of last
I beg You, ya Allaah…..please forgive me
I repent to you, O Maulaa……do accept me
Labbaik....Allaahum ma Labbaik
Labbaik means to change..…so that I live my life for You
Whatever I say and do, from now on will only be to please You
I will give up my evil ways
I will fix my nights and days
Labbaik....Allaahum ma Labbaik
But Labbaik also means....... I love you, Ya Rabbee
Nothing else matters....but that You’re pleased with me
Its Your Pleasure that I seek
Though I’m so sinful and weak
Labbaik....Allaahum ma Labbaik
Head bowed low…. remorseful, and so full of fear
I am ashamed of my life….repentant, as I stand here
Yearning your forgiveness
I cry out in wretchedness…
Labbaik....Allaahum ma Labbaik
Will I change for the better….will I turn my life around?
Or will I succumb to temptation, wherever it is found?
When will I even begin to see
The faults that are so obvious in me?
Labbaik....Allaahum ma Labbaik
I’ll stop dealing in Ribaa….. I’ll give up my Haraam earning
I’ll wear the Hijaab…… no more lying , no backbiting
Never a single prayer will I neglect
My character, I’ll make…upright and erect
Labbaik....Allaahum ma Labbaik
Don’t let me become heedless, I pray….Don’t make me forget
All the promises I’ve made, Ya Allaah….all the goals that I’ve set
Keep me strong, keep me steadfast
Let this feeling in me, forever last
Labbaik....Allaahum ma Labbaik
For I don’t know when I’ll die and I don’t know where it will be
But I hope I am in Ihraam….when the Angel comes to me
‘Cos if I die so, the Prophet told you and me
when raised from the dead, my first words’ll be..…
Labbaik....Allaahum ma Labbaik
“The journey of a thousand miles must begin
with a single step.”
