Brother Imran Sabir
Bismillah
As-salamu 'alaykum wa'rahamtullah wa'barakatuhu,
With much sadness I inform you that our dear brother and fellow student, Imran Sabir passed away last night at 9.45pm.
Ina lilah wa ina ilayhi rajiun - To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return [extract from Quran Sura 2: Ayat 156]
Much can be said about Sidi Imran, his thirst for knowledge as a student, his himmah as an active member of the community inspiring and enabling change for the betterment of the lives of others, his awe-inspiring achievements, his deep insight and his beautiful nature. He touched the lives of many - mashAllah - and I pray his efforts live on for years as a means of sadaqa for him and as a mark of this great man.
The students of the online halaqa owe much to Imran, for courses such as the Nasaih al-Dinniya of Imam al-Haddad were made possible through the halaqa because of him. As a token of our love and appreciation for Sidi Imran I hope you can join me and several others in doing a Quran Khatam with the intention of donating the reward to Sidi Imran.
There is a student body of over 200 students Alhamdulillah so am sure we should be able to recite the Quran collectively several times inshAllah. Once students email informing us which juz/para they will recite it will be posted on the following page: http://haqaonline.com/halaqa/khatam.html enabling you to check which juz/para have been taken. Furthermore once we have completion the recital of the Quran once we can endavour to recite it again inshAllah - but this is relative to your response and contribution.
Can I also request that you keep his family and friends in your prayers please.

Posted on here for Br waseem
Assalamu alaikum.
I only had the pleasure of meeting Br Imran twice, however I found him to be one of the most belssed and illuminating people I have met in my life, and I was very sad to hear of his passing although I take heart in the hope that he will be amongst the highest ranks of Jannah - may Allah swt forgive him and grant him this.
Br Imran had been involved in many initiatives - I met him at a meeting for Kitaba - a charity who are working on providing Islamic Texts for the blind - which was held in his house. I spoke to him for a while at the meeting and was inspired by his motivation and efforts. I have also learned that regardless of how ill I think I may be due to flu or a cold or some simple ailment that we seem to allow to incapacitate us, we should never forget the small blessings that Allah swt has chosen to give us or forget that there are people worse off than we are who continue to strive for the sake of Allah swt and his deen despite their challenges.
Please Remember our brother in our du'as and those who make efforts for the sake of Allah swt.
Innalillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oon. Verily to Allah belongs what He took and what He gave. With Allah everything has an appointed term.
May Allah The Most High forgive him, free him from the torment of the grave and reward him with Jannah. Ameen..
