Wa alaikum as salaam, and greetings
Thank you for your message, you are very welcome to come along to our meetings and bring your wee one as well. Some of the sisters who come to the group have kids and they bring them along too, so this is no problem. We don't have childcare provision as such so we only ask that parents supervise their kids in the mosque.
The meetings are very friendly and informal, and the focus is normally on a short talk or class, then a nice cup of tea etc and any general discussions that come up. The sisters are very welcoming and are supportive of each other (as are the brothers of course).
This coming Wednesday may be a good time to come to the Glasgow meeting as I think Sheikh AbdulAziz will be teaching, he is an excellent teacher and is a good friend to our group. As always this will be on Wednesday evening (11th Feb) at 7.30pm in SUMSA mosque, across the road from the registry office in Martha St, next to Strathclyde University. We hope to see you and your wee one there insha'Allah.

Hi,
I was wondering if you will be meeting this Wednesday (18th February)?
Thanks
Hi
Apologies, forgot to update the post!
Yes insha'Allah we are meeting this Wednesday 18th at the usual time of 7.30pm, in SUMSA mosque, Martha St, Glasgow (across the road from the Registry Office) You are welcome to come along
Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,
Are there any gatherings for sisters in Glasgow, which take place in the day time rather than the evenings?
Wa alaikum as salaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatohu
Thank you for your post. We dont have anyformal meetings during the day however we do occasionally meet informally, there are also some other things that do go on to my knowledge. Could you perhaps email details of what you're looking for to info@newtoislam.co.uk, or alternatively if you register here you can send a personal message to 'SistertoIslam' and she will be pleased to help you.
Hi
I am a non religious parent who is not happy with the religious education being given to my child in school, due to its Christian bias. I, and some other Mums are wanting to arrange to give our children positive experiences / learning in all of the major religions, starting with Islam. Can you provide me with events / experiences that take place in and around Glasgow that would interest primary school children and give them a positive view of Islam please?
Ruth
hi im a glasgow male who is wanting to revert to islam, i dont know any muslims and thus im kinda alone in this im wondering if theres any help or advice you can give me on learning the basics of islam and prayers etc your help would be very much appreciated
heres my email mise-1-@hotmail.com
Hi Ruth
Central Mosque in Glasgow I think would be a good start. If you get in touch with them they can arrange a suitable time for you to visit. Explaining numbers and a imam or sister will guide you around. You can call them on 0141 429 3132 or by leaving a message here >> http://www.centralmosque.co.uk/contact also the there is an islamic centre which has recently been built too i'm sure they'd be able to help with information on islam too. I myself am not muslim so apologies for not being able to give anymore info, however think its a great thing that you are doing being open with your children and allowing them to learn about other religions. hope it all goes well.
hi ruth
Al meezan house which is in Dumbreck run fanrastic classes for kids and also run open days for primary schools. It'll be well worth giving them a ring! 0141 427 4271

Hi - thanks for your post and welcome to our website :)
We'd be delighted to see you at our next meeting. Yes this will be on Wednesday 28th of Oct at 7.30pm in SUMSA insha'Allah (GodWilling). SUMSA is Strathclyde University Muslim Student's Association mosque, which is situated in the St Paul's building on Martha St, round the corner from George Sq (across the road from the Registry Office)
The meetings usually consist of a short talk followed by a general discussion or question and answer type format, then followed by a cup of tea and a bit of a general blether. Things are always very informal and friendly and we have men and ladies who attend from both 'New Muslim' or born Muslim backgrounds.
Look forward to seeing you soon insha'Allah
Sasha
Al Salamu Alaikom,
First of all, let me tell u that I am so impressed with this wonderful website which I have just discovered today.
Iam an Arab muslim living in Dundee and I am looking forward to join these meetings and social gatherings so as to socialize with muslims and non-muslims living here and know more about my great religion of Islam.
Moreover, I do appreciate all ur efforts to introduce non-muslims to the true Islam which is quite different than the false image imposed on people through the media nowadays.
I hope to join u soon inshaallah but I wonder if it is possible to have my little kid along with me.
I do hope also to meet and contact any sisters whether Arabs or non-Arabs living here.. It would be really great..My e-mail address is amira_abozeid@yahoo.com
Sorry for this long message and thanks again..
Assalamu alaikum sister
JazakAllahu Khairun for your post and kind words of encouragement - and welcome to Scotland
Please make du'a for all who are involved in Dawah and who support efforts such as these.
There is a New Muslims group in Dundee - Sister Alison looks after the Dundee project, and details can be found in the Dundee section of our website - http://www.newtoislam.co.uk/forums/dundee-new-muslims
Sister Alison is best placed to advise with regard to Dundee events etc, perhaps Alison can also point you in the right direction to meet good sisters in your area?
You are also always welcome to visit our meetings in Glasgow if you are ever down our way, and your child will be welcome as well. Sisters regularly bring kids to the group and this is fine as long as the parents keep an eye on the kids as we dont have childcare arrangements.
Hope this is helpful and perhaps we will see you soon insha'Allah
Sr Sasha

Hi Nikki

Please don't worry, it is quite normal to feel nervous, however our group is very informal and friendly, and the sisters are all very warm and welcoming. I'd be happy to speak to you when I see you about any concerns or queries you may have.
I'll also send you a personal message through the website with my mob number, should you need to speak to me before Wed night.

Assalam Alaykum,
I am interesting in learning about Islam and becoming a Muslim. I would like to attend the meetings but i am wondering if it is alright to bring children along as i think i would struggle to get a babysitter? If you could let me know that would be great.
Thank You
