NewtoArabic class launched at SUMSA
As Salam alaykum warahmatullah,
SUMSA is launching a new Arabic class next Tuesday, it will be taught by Brother AbdulBassit from Libya may Allah reward him. We have met him and discussed some issues which could be summarised into three key points:
1) There will be only one class per week (for two hours) and it will take place every Tuesday: between 18:00 and 20:00. First class will on 17/06/08.
2) The class will be dedicated for beginners.
3) The class will be for brothers only (at least for now).
Please check your diaries, hopefully you'll be available on Tuesdays (18:00 - 20:00), if not let me know we might be able to shift it to (19:00 - 21:00) or ( 20:00-22:00), but it has to be on Tuesday as it's the only day Shaykh Abdulbassit is available.
For now the class consists of 10 or 11 brothers, so if you know any other brothers interested in learning arabic please let them know, more students will make it more encouraging for you, besides it will be more fun
!
As for the sisters, I understand they're already taking an arabic class on Sundays. However, if they are interested in another one, we can arrange that. The sister who is volunteering is also ready to help with Hifdh (Memorization) of Quran and Daily Duaa's (supplications).
If anyone is interested please reply here or contact me on 07854834748.
Jazakom Allah Khairan.
Adel
PS: The new website is very nice Masha'Allah.
Assalamu Alaykum
We have an arabic class for sisters on Sunday in SUMSA - Class is running from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. ( though this could be changed if unsuitable )
JazakAllah Kheir
Gwen
Mash'Allah this is great!
....Will pass on the details to Every One insh'Allah
May Allah swt Reward all Brother's and Sister's in the Here- After Insh'Allah...who are making the effort to teach and helping out in the way of Allah swt...
the sunday arabic classes sound great. i would love to come have I missed anything did they start this week?
Aoa,
You can come on Sunday, The class Start's at 2.30pm..
It is open to everyone!
The Sister's are very Good Mashallah!..
Salam Alaykom,
Alhamdoulillah, the first arabic class for brothers was good as I have been told! But still I need more feedback!
Craig and AbdulRaheem have made it to the class, may Allah reward them for making the efforts to learn Arabic. Brothers, I need feedback from both of you?
As i said above, I was told the class was good but I guess it was a bit advanced for the beginners, and let me tell you the reason for that, when the class started at 18:10 there was only 7 people and Masha'Allah they all knew how to read Arabic, so the teacher AbdulBassit decided to start from the level of the class and hence taught the conversational language.
We are thinking of running another supplementary class for the very based alphabet, pronunciation, reading, writing "the right way to link letters to form words", and things like that...
Please let me know your opinion?
Jazakom Allah Khairan,
Adel

Assalam aleikum every one!
I need some help from anyone willing to teach the arabic class while I am away, I am travelling on wednesday 9th july. I have a friend who is an arabic speaker and is willing to help but she may need a hand since her English is not very good and the students are english speakers.I will be away for 3 weeks that is 3 or 4 classes.
may Allah reward you abundantly
assalam aleikum warahmatullah/peace be upon you
today I was at SUMSA from 2.30pm but no one came, I hope everyone is all right. we have arranged so that another teacher will take over the class for the time I am going to be away. mashaAllah she is an experienced Arabic teacher from Iraq, (
dont be intimidated she knows there are beginners) so we are lucky to have her! when I come back InshaAllah she will still be with us
I also note that in this thread there is some kind of confusion about the time, the class is at 14.30 on sundays at SUMSA. if you find the time unsuitable please contact me (07983021061)

I noticed that there are Arabic Classes on for women. I have been looking into Islam for a year now and would like to start moving forward. I speak no Arabic at all so I am a complete begginer. If it is too late for me to start, do you have any information or suggestions for me to go and ask for help! I am a very keen learner and am looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you
