After nearly two and a half years of soul searching, confusion, doubt and some fairly intense study, I humbly declared shahada on Saturday 21st June.  The timing was perfect for me, well almost, my great friend and brother in Islam has just departed for a months holiday leaving me to fumble through the prayer book his wonderful wife gave me as a present and generally murder the Arabic language (honestly my pronunciation is woeful)

I would like to thank the people from this site, and elsewhere whom I have spoken to in the past and Sheikh Abdulaziz, who was kind enough to answer my questions and help me actually declare shahada properly in Arabic (seriously, my pronunciation is really that bad, in fact if anyone remembers the French policeman from the 80’s comedy show ‘allo ‘allo I recon I am on par with him)

Anyway, my new life begins, I know very few brothers or sisters in Glasgow (or anywhere for that matter) so if anyone has any suggestions for a new brother then I would be happy to hear them.  And if you see lad looking very lost standing outside a Mosque practicing from a children’s prayer book, don’t laugh too hard, that’s probably me.

Thanks again.
