The forbidden gaze... What exactly [=x-small]IS[/] the forbidden gaze? What is permitted in regards to looking, interacting and speaking with the opposite sex?

In society today there is much confusion clouting this topic, and many are heedless to the affects and consequences of these acts, adopting a very western secular position to what is actually disallowed in Islam.
In this series Sheikh Feiz explores and clarifies what is allowed pertaining to the interaction of men and women and what is disallowed.

Allah created us to worship Him, and Him Alone.
& Allah Subhanahu'Tala addresses "Satan" thus;

"And excite any of them whom you can with your voice. Assault them with your cavalry and infantry, be a partner with them in their wealth and children, and make them promises. But Satan promises nothing but deceit."(Al-Israa' 17: 64).

So as we can perceive here, Satan is instructed to excite and in turn, lead you far astray from Lord Allah who Created us.

Here Allah signifies, yet Satan promises what?

Nothing but Deceit... It's his trickery, and sadly gets you if you are an unbeliever or a very weak believer.

However, Satan does not actually have any power over true believers.
As Allah stresses in the following verse, Satan has power only over those who do not truly and sincerely believe:

He (Satan) said, “My Lord, because You misled me, I will make things on the earth seem good to them and I will mislead them all, every one of them, except Your servants among them who are sincere." (Al-Hijr 15:39-40).

Satan cannot lead a man whom Allah created as a believer, to go astray from the right path. Of course, believers are always prone to make mistakes. However, they never despair of Allah’s mercy, but immediately take refuge in Him and repent with sincerity. Allah informs us in the Qur’an of those over whom Satan can exert his power:

"He has no authority over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. He only has authority over those who take him as a friend and associate others with Allah." (An-Nahl 16:99-100).

So we have an enemy here whose only aim is to keep us far from ALLAH, His religion, and the Qur’an.
He does not relent from his plot even for a moment; lying in ambush, he awaits the opportunity to fulfill his task.
He is able to see you from where you cannot see him and tries thousands of methods to entrap you. One of his characteristics is that he is stealthy. His methods, tactics, and tricks may vary from one person to the next. The tactics he employs may also depend on the time, place, and conditions. This enemy of ours is Satan, the being who was driven from the sight of Allah.

"Did I not make a contract with you, tribe of Adam, not to worship Satan, who truly is an outright enemy to you, but to worship Me? That is a straight path. He has led numerous people among you into error. Why did you not use your intellect?" (Ya-Sin 36:60-62).

As a result, the five senses Allah established in us Subhan'Allah, are all but "EXAMS".
Through which humans will pass and gain Paradise of jannah, or Astugfirrullah fail and lose in the Hell of jahannum.

A Muslim believes in the Day of the Judgement, where this world as we know it will come to an end ... and the dead will rise to stand for their final and fair trial.

On that day, all men and women from Adam to the last person, will be resurrected from the state of death for judgement. Everything we do, say, make, intend and intentionally think are accounted for and kept in accurate records, and are brought up on the Day of Judgement.

Well, whoever is priviledged enough to listen to this lecture and implement its Laws of the Creator, will by the Power of Allah succeed. Insha'Allah! Allahu'Akbar.
